This International Women’s Day, We’re Passing the Mic to You

Victoria here, Girlboss’ executive editor. Happy International Women’s Day! We jokingly call it our “Super Bowl,” but if you really think about it, every day at Girlboss HQ is International Women’s Day. The very reason we exist is to help women navigate the future of work with confidence so they can find success on their own terms. We are unapologetic in our beliefs and values of supporting girls and women who are chasing dreams both big and small. 💗

When the content team and I were brainstorming ideas to celebrate IWD this year, we thought about doing another spicy thinkpiece or a deep-dive into one of the (many) systemic barriers that are holding women back at work: the wage gap, lack of affordable child care, the broken rung, the funding gap for women founders… you get the infuriating picture. And we’ve talked about most (if not all of them) before, and we’ll continue to do so—365 days a year. That’s a promise.

But this IWD, we want to turn the spotlight on our community—yes, you. Because there are over 2 million of you (across our socials and this very newsletter) who are making moves boldly (or quietly) behind the scenes. Whether you quit your toxic job, finally got that long overdue raise, started your side hustle, or just survived another day in corporate America, we want to hear about it and celebrate it. Time to shout it from the rooftop—err… cubicle?

That’s why we’re so excited to announce the launch of our brand-new weekly column, From the Desk Of… where every Thursday, we’ll be spotlighting cool women doing cool sh*t. Whether you’re a corporate 9-5 girlie, a full-time entrepreneur, a gig worker, a freelancer, a multihyphenate, or something in between—every voice and professional journey is welcome and deserves to be heard. ⭐

Think of this column as a success story snapshot. You’ll get to answer questions like:

🎤 What is a career win you’ve had recently?
🎤 What’s the best (and worst) career advice you’ve ever received?
🎤 Do you believe in work-life balance? Why or why not?
