Menopause Time Off Shouldn’t Be Radical
Menopause is a normal life stage, but too many workplaces still treat it like a personal problem that women are expected to manage on their own.
Hone Health’s Menopause Time Off movement is calling for better workplace support for women navigating perimenopause and menopause, including stigma-free flexibility, employer resources, menopause-inclusive time off, and a $50K microgrant fund.
Get this: New Hone data found that nearly 20% of women have left a job or retired because of peri/menopause symptoms. Meanwhile, menopause-related productivity loss is estimated at $5.4B annually, and yet most workplaces still have virtually no policy in place to address it. 😱
That’s why Hone is on a mission to make Menopause Time Off mainstream. Because women shouldn’t have to choose between their health and their careers. 👏

How to Survive Heartbreak at Work Like a Professional 💔
In our humble opinion, having to go into the office after having your heart broken should be illegal. 👏 But since heartbreak leave isn’t a thing yet 🙄, we’ve got the next best thing: advice from an expert.
In her brand-new book Don’t Do What I Did—Break Up & Bounce Back, bestselling author and content creator Kelsey Darragh (you might recognize her from her BuzzFeed days!) offers her brutally honest, laugh-out-loud advice for getting through it. And she knows, because she’s done it all: begging, ghosting, spiraling, texting poetry at 2 a.m., and yes, even downing eight espresso martinis in one sitting (relatable queen).
Here’s her very best advice for getting through your workday with a broken heart:
How can we maintain professionalism at work while struggling with a breakup?
Cry in the bathroom like a professional. I'm only sort of joking. Give yourself five minutes to let it all out, splash some water on your face, and remember that the spreadsheet you're trying to finish does not know you got dumped, and it does not care… so only commit to work that you can accomplish for a week!
The trick isn't pretending you're fine; it's more about picking the two hours a day you actually have to hold it together, put on a performance, and be a "normal working human," and then being a disaster after 5 p.m.
What's the best way to navigate a breakup with a coworker?
Ah yes, the office romance... a true classic, right up there with "I can fix him" and "we're just keeping it casual." I'm guilty of all three! But with an office ex, you don't have to be friends, you just have to be functional. So keep it cordial, keep it brief, and do NOT trauma-dump to the rest of the team and make them pick sides like it's a custody battle over the break room!
Is there a "right" way to tell coworkers you're going through a breakup?
You do not owe anyone the whole saga. "Going through some personal stuff, might be a little quiet this week" is a complete sentence, and it ends the conversation beautifully.
How is emotional burnout from dating similar to workplace burnout?
They're the same kind of monster wearing different outfits. Dating burnout is staring at your phone with the same dead-eyed dread you feel opening your inbox on Monday morning.
The advice for both is the same, and it's annoying because it works: stop saying “yes” to things that drain you, take the dang break, and stop treating rest like something you have to earn. You can't pour from an empty cup, and you definitely can't pour from one you cracked answering "hey u up" at 1 a.m.
Want more dating content? Of course you do. 😉 Read our tips on meeting someone in the wild, making the first move, and why dating can feel so much harder for ambitious women.
