Lately, it feels like mahjong is everywhere… and I absolutely love to see my Chinese culture in the spotlight! 🥲 

But between Hallmark announcing a mahjong-themed movie with a predominantly white cast and The New York Times profiling two white women who started a mahjong business (despite public outcry over their products), I can’t help but feel a liiiiiittle concerned about the whitewashing that’s happening to a game that’s so deeply tied to Chinese culture.

Which is why we’re outlining a few simple ways to play mahjong without culturally appropriating. 😘
