Ask for one specific piece of candid input. Abrahami suggests this script: "I'd value one piece of candid input as I keep searching for roles like this: was there a specific area where the candidate you chose was stronger, or something I could have demonstrated more clearly?"

Yes, if you'd still be open to working with the team. Abrahami says to tell them so, because team priorities and structures change quickly. The team that rejected her contacted her a few months later with a new part-time role that fit her needs better than the original job.

How long should you take to recover from a job rejection?

Abrahami suggests giving yourself a few days to reflect and process the disappointment. Move your body, spend time with a supportive friend and let yourself feel it, then stop the spiral and get back to your search after two or three days.
