Lara here, Girlboss’ contributing writer! 👋

International Women’s Day may have been this past weekend (on the shortest day of the year, thanks to Daylight Saving Time! 🙄), but thankfully, Women’s History Month is all month long. Since we’re feeling a little short-changed after the clocks sprang forward, we’re taking it upon ourselves to celebrate women even more than usual. And if you’re a man reading this, might we suggest Venmo-ing money to all of the women in your life? Consider it reparations. 👏

Other stuff the Girlboss team is yapping about on Slack:

💼 Job of the day: Movie obsessed? The Tribeca Film Festival is hiring a Press Credentialing & Ticketing Manager. While the role may be seasonal, we have a feeling you’ll have the opportunity to make some pretty major connections.

🧠 TikTok brain got you feeling foggy? Here’s how to get your focus back

💆‍♀️ We’re obsessed with this 90-second rule to combat stress.

☀️ The longer you stay in paradise, the less you remember your to-do list. (It’s science.)*

🔥 Starting your own business is so hot right now.

Good thing Ion® 24K from Sally Beauty exists. This four-piece collection is powered by TRICHOPOWER™ SCIENCE, a molecular technology that takes hair back to its natural state. Yay for hair science! 🧪

Here's what's in the rotation:

Rapid Recovery Leave-In Treatment reverses damage from root to tip in just three minutes
🚿 Metal & Mineral Neutralizing Spray removes deposits for brighter, more even color

🖤 Charcoal Detox Shampoo lifts impurities while locking in moisture

8 Simple Ways We're Celebrating Women's History Month

We’ll take any reason to celebrate women ’round these parts. 💪 And our deep feminist rage over International Women’s Day only being 23 hours long, thanks to Daylight Saving Time? It has us extra fired up to celebrate women in literally every aspect of our lives. 🔥

Without further ado, here are eight simple things you can do this month (and every month!) to celebrate, uplift, and support women.

🛍️ Shop women-owned businesses: While this will require a tad more research than your usual mindless scrolling, it’s a simple way to put your money where your mouth is. Plus, being more mindful about where you shop will make you more mindful about how you spend (a.k.a. saving you money). This mega roundup of 301+ women-owned brands is a great place to start.

🎨 Go to a gallery exhibit showcasing a woman’s work: Women outnumber men in art school, and yet major commercial galleries represent just 32% women. The math ain’t mathing, which is why it’s more important than ever to support women in the arts.

📖 Read a biography about a woman you admire: Bonus points if it’s an autobiography or written by another woman! What better way to celebrate women’s history than by literally learning history herstory? Plus, we saw that Bookshop is offering 20% off this month with code WHM26, if you need a little reading inspo.

🍽️ Eat at women-owned restaurants: Quick, think of a celebrity chef. Was it a man? The irony that women have historically shouldered the weight of cooking in the domestic sphere, while men have been celebrated for doing it professionally, is enough to make us want to scream into the abyss. The good news is, the easiest way to undo those biases is to eat a fabulous meal at a woman-owned restaurant (don’t forget to leave a Google review, too!).

🍿 Watch movies directed by women: In this year’s major categories at the Oscars (Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay), Hamnet by Chloé Zhao is the only nominated film directed by a woman. Considering all the amazing contributions women have made to film this year (Die My Love, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and KPop Demon Hunters, to name a few!), that just doesn’t sit right with us, so we propose a month-long women-directed movie marathon.

🎧 Listen to a podcast hosted by a woman: Heck, why not listen to podcasts only hosted by women for the entire month? Across the top podcasts, just 35.9% of hosts are women, meaning that women’s voices are literally being ignored in one of the world’s fastest-growing platforms. May we suggest starting with Ambition 2.0?

🏀 Watch women’s sports: Go to a game IRL, if you can! From basketball to hockey, women's sports are experiencing record-shattering growth, and we highly encourage promoting that growth every way you possibly can.

👩‍⚕️ Make “she” your default: Whether you’re talking about a doctor, lawyer, or plumber, default to “she.” For so long, men have been the default “experts” in all professional fields, and small linguistic changes like this can gradually shift our worldview and that of those around us.

And supporting a woman-led media business is always a good idea. 😉 If you enjoy reading Girlboss Daily, forward it to a friend (we’ll love you forever). Plus, if three of your friends subscribe through our referral program (see below), you’ll unlock our How to Get Noticed guide for free. A win-win!

What Team Girlboss has been loving lately.

💻 On the hunt for a new work laptop? Apple just announced the new MacBook Neo, and at $599, it’s basically a steal (plus, it comes in cute colors!).

🍉 This cutie one-piece from Carve Designs is the perfect minimalist swimsuit (dw, it’s still flirty, thanks to a low-cut back). We're obsessed with the watermelon pink for spring, and with a sarong or shorts thrown over, it takes you straight from the beach to the bar.*

🌹 If you only listen to one song off the new Harry Styles album, it must be “Coming Up Roses.”

🧖‍♀️ Time to upgrade your sad towels! Brooklinen’s Friends & Fam Sale is back, and they’re offering 20% off home items and up to 50% off bundles until March 18.

🧀 Alison Roman’s new recipe for Very Easy Mac and Cheese has busy weeknight dinner written all over it.
